Carluccio’s began with a love of making food from scratch and sharing it with the people around my table. For me, food has never been simply about eating. It’s about family, conversation, tradition, and those moments when everyone slows down long enough to enjoy being together.
A Little Bit of San Marino at the Table
My family’s roots trace back to the Republic of San Marino, a tiny country surrounded by Italy, where food, family, and tradition have always gone hand in hand. Those roots are an important part of who I am–and they’re part of the spirit behind Carluccio’s.
Biscotti became special to me because they’re made for exactly that kind of moment–an espresso, a conversation, and a reason to stay at the table just a little longer.
Carluccio’s started simply. I began making biscotti for family and friends, experimenting with flavors and trying to create the kind of biscotti I wanted to eat–crisp, flavorful, handmade, and perfect alongside a good cup of coffee. The reaction from the people who tried them made me wonder if this was something worth sharing beyond my own kitchen.
So that’s what Carluccio’s is: a small-batch kitchen built around something I love making and, even more importantly, love sharing. Every batch is made from scratch, by hand, with the hope that it finds its way to another table, another cup of coffee, and another good conversation.
